Section 1 of Easy Eraser Help

Now you have the program, here is how to use it. To Use Some of these tools you must have Easy Eraser Running. Just click the minimize line in the top right corner and easy erasers icon will show up in the right hand bottom corner of your monitor. (down by where the time is) To view Easy Eraser again just click that icon or double click if that is how your computer is set up. (If the below instructions say click the same applies. Click once or twice however your windows operating system is set up for)

Main Tab

IE Toolbar Integration: Add Easy Eraser to the Toolbar of Internet Explorer. Like below: Then you can start from browser anytime. From The Tools Section of Internet Explorer as shown below. Just click Easy Eraser 2.0 and Easy Eraser will start up.



 

Show / Hide IE Hotkey: Just Click The Windows Start Key (which is between Ctrl and Alt) and Z at the same time. This will hide all your Internet Explorer windows that are open. When you are ready to resume browsing online just click the Windows Start Key and Shift key and Z all at once. It will unhide your Internet Explorer Browser.

Auto Bookmark : Prevent your browser from unwanted additions to your Bookmarks. While this option is enabled it will prevent additions from malicious javascript techniques to add bookmarks to your favourites folder. Just Click Enable to protect sites from adding bookmarks to your favorites. Easy Eraser must be running to be protected. If you exit Easy Eraser you will no longer be protected and need to enable again. We recommend to have on and enabled while you are surfing sites.

Panic Button: This button will immediately hides itself and will close all running instances of Internet Explorer and Netscape. And wipes all the traces selected in the Windows Privacy tab behind the screen silently. So if you need to have history files to be cleaned then you will have to click the Privacy Tab (explained below) and check the boxes of what you want to be cleaned if you were to hit the panic button. Otherwise it will just close Internet Explorer and netscape and then shut itself down.

Windows Privacy

Erase Popular folders: This section deletes the popular windows shell folders where all the temporary datas are stored. It deletes the following: Recent Document List , Recent Items From Run Menu, Temp Folder, Recycle Bin, Find Files History, Find Computers History and Printer Ports.

Just click each box and a check mark appears. Then Click Eraser Selected Items or you can Select more items to clean.

Erase Applications Recent Lists: This section deletes recent files history from the Registry and also from the recently accesses files list from the following applications: WinZip, Visual Basic, WordPad, Paint Brush, and Windows Media Player. Just click each box and a check mark appears. Then Click Erase Selected Items.

 

 

Erase Internet Explorer Disable AutoComplete, Internet Typed Web Address, Internet Explorer Cache, Cookies, Index.dat ( requires reboot ). Just click each item you want to erase. Then click Erase selected Items. Remember Index.dat does require the computer to reboot. Just click each box and then click Erase Selected Items.

Erase Netscape Navigator Internet Typed Web Address, Netscape Cache Folder, and Cookies. Just click each box and then click Erase Selected Items.

Select All Click this button to select (check will appear in all boxes) everything to be cleaned. If you don't want to reboot just uncheck index.dat and then click Erase Selected Items.

Deselect All Click this button to unselect (uncheck) any selected items.

Erase Selected Items Click this button to clean all items you have selected in the Erase Popular folders, Erase Applications Recent Lists, Erase Internet Explorer, and Erase Netscape Navigator.

Internet Explorer

Internet Explorer Home Page: Type in any website you would like to come up when you first use Internet Explorer then click Set. Default shows your current Home Page. If you would like Internet Explorer to open without a website coming up then click the Use Blank button. To protect your homepage from being changed by websites you visit then click the box next to Lock. Note Easy Eraser must be running while you are surfing for this protection and you must check each time you start up Easy Eraser and would like it to protect your Home Page.

Internet Explorer Cache Management: When you click Get Cache it will show everything in the Internet Explorer Cache. You can pick and choose what you want to delete. Just click a link and then click Delete Selected. If you would like to delete cookies just click Delete Cookies. Or you can Delete All by clicking the Delete All Button. Note some things may remain, if this happens then you need to clean index.dat from the Windows Privacy tab which requires you to restart.

Netscape Navigator This tab currently does not work for Netscape 6.2. But Easy Eraser still does clean all the tracks from Netscape Navigator through the Windows Privacy Tab.

Set Netscape Homepage: Type in any website you would like to come up when you first use Netscape Navigator then click Set Netscape Homepage.

Domains: The white window will show sites in the Netscape Navigator cache. To clean this out please refer to the Windows Privacy Tab. Path, Name, Value and Expires shows the cookies that are stored for Netscape Navigator. You can use the < > buttons to view each one.

System Information

System Information: This tab shows you some useful information about your computer. Information about the Processor you computer uses. Your OS name and version.

The Memory Section shows the current use of Memory on your computer. If you click the Get System Info button this will update this section to show you how your memory on the computer is being used.

Below the Get System Info button you will see Your Windows Version and Your Internet Explorer Version number.
